In 1976, and after 20 years of dynamic growth in his Waikato based family business, Brian Perry, and his wife Peggy, established the Perry Foundation with a vision to provide support to the community that had, in turn, assisted them with their business growth over the previous 20 years. Initially, funds were donated by Perry Group companies. As the Trust grew, and the charity gaming model was introduced to New Zealand, funds were generated from gaming machines in pubs and clubs and from the Foundation's portfolio of commercial assets. More recently, Perry Foundation has diversified into two separate Trusts - one still retaining the "Perry Foundation" name, and the other - the "Brian Perry Charitable Trust". After recent mergers with Century Foundation, Scottwood Trust and Castle Trust - the Perry Foundation's sole income stream is from its gaming operation. It is now one of New Zealand's most significant gaming Trusts, returning in excess of $30 million to the communities of New Zealand each year. The Brian Perry Charitable Trust owns an investment portfolio which includes a number of commercial land and building packages, and 360 Management Limited, a not-for-profit company offering a wide variety of services and business functions including policy analysis and development and strategic planning. 360 Management provides total administration, financial and operational support to Perry Foundation. Both Perry Foundation and the Brian Perry Charitable Trust reflect a strong shared culture of community and social responsibility that is central to the Perry Group. |
